Do Your Visitors Care If You Are Blogging For Money?
I think, (I’m not going to say that I know), that blogging for money, (or just blogging for the heck of it), appeals to so many people because:
- They are fed up with working for someone else
- They don’t have a job, and need to make a living
- They do have a job and need to make more money
- They already have a business, either online or off, and feel that a blog might enhance their business
- They have a product to sell, and feel that blogging is a method they should incorporate to sell their product
- They have a service to sell, and feel that blogging may be a viable method of marketing their service
OR…
- They have a subject or hobby they are passionately interested in, and want to share their passion with others
Of all of the reasons I’ve listed above, the individual who writes a blog, (either for money or a hobby), that revolves around a subject s/he is very passionate about, stands the best chance of having a blog that is able to draw a fair amount of visitors to it, and thus be deemed successful.
And by “successful”, I’m not just talking about blogging for money here. I’m talking about having a successful blog that gets regular visitors, and that has the ability to keep those visitors coming back.
Because… It goes without saying, that if you have decent traffic to your blog, then it is very easy to make some money, even if that wasn’t the reason you started blogging for in the first place!
I think that anyone who’s really thought about the idea of blogging for money, or just blogging for the heck of it, has realized that the whole blogging thing, would be a whole lot easier, if they at least had a fairly passionate interest in what they are blogging about.
It is easy to be passionate about making money. But the problem with that is; Most people will not return to read your blog if your main passion is taking their money.
I don’t care how great your product is… If you don’t offer your visitors good compelling content, they won’t return, and you will not have enough traffic to make the money you are so passionate to make!
The Folks Who, (Hopefully), Visit Your Blog – Do Not Care That You Are Blogging For Money!
Your blog’s visitors don’t care if you make any money at all. In fact, if they think that your intention is to make money off their visit, they will resent you. Oh yea, they have an idea that you may be making some money from your blog, but they didn’t come to your blog to give you their money.
You Must “Pre-Sell” Your Audience With Quality, Informative, Interesting And Entertaining Content!
And when you can do that… write quality content that effectively warms your audience up to you, believe me… you can sell them plenty! But you have to show them that you care about them first.
And lastly…
Don’t EVER offer your visitors junk! Check your product offers out, and make sure they are high quality, and offer an iron clad money back guarantee!
Now, I want to tell you a secret about myself. I started working online a few years ago. I sold a lot of different products using a lot of different methods. I was “moderately” successful. I eventually became aware of the fact that it wasn’t the money that attracted me to marketing online – that it was “the game” itself.
I’m in love with, (addicted to), the “idea” that anyone, with an average amount of drive and intelligence, can make a living, if s/he wants to, from the comfort of their homes, with nothing more than a decent computer and an internet connection.
I don’t need money. I have a high paying job that I like, (for the most part), and I’m getting very close to retirement. But like I said; “I’m addicted to internet marketing”, the whole concept of it.
When I review a product, or recommend that you check out a product, It’s because I have examined it, and found it worthy of recommending to even my friends.
That being said; Below are a couple of links that will lead you to products that could help you tremendously with your marketing aspirations. Will I make money, (a commission), if you buy the products I’m recommending that you look at? Well, of course – that is part of “the game” I was telling you about.
To Your Success,
Doug La Londe
